Stand Firm - By Mr. Michael

By Mr. Michael,

Following the statutes of God is a long and tough journey that with our own strength we cannot manage to stay in His rightful way. in order to always remain in the path of light a midst all the Babylonian activities taking place around us, we should focus on standing firm to our statutes and professing what we truly believe in in all aspects of our lives.

When we look at Daniel 1:8- "But Daniel purposed in his heart that he would not defile himself with the portion of the king's meat, nor with the wine which he drank: therefore he requested of the prince of the eunuchs that he might not defile himself." KJV; we get to know how Daniel made a choice not to take a path that was not of God. Instead, chose what he knew would please Jehovah and asked to be put to test. We find later verses that Daniel's health and those of his friends proved to be much better than the others who fed from the king's table. I have to say that it is really rewarding to follow the path of GOD.

Do we at this time hold on to the teachings that are imparted into us at church, or at public Evangelical meetings? Some people have branded some Bible verses cliches, yet such verses depict our great story of redemption.

There is no other element in the world that can make us follow the way of light apart from the Word of God. David attests to this truth in Psalms 119:105 - "Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path." KJV.

God designed us to be heroes and not losers  We can therefore not allow ourselves to lose the battle between us and the prince of darkness  We have to choose for ourselves whom we shall serve, "...either the god of the Amorrites or the God who saved us from the hands of the Egyptians..." Joshua gave the Israelites these two options to choose from. Which one shall you choose today? Our choice determines our destiny with God, and if we are going to make the right choice today, we will be saved, and the Heavens shall rejoice.

Babylon stands in our path to righteousness. Babylonian activities take place all round our working environments, learning environments, and even worshiping environments. Are we going to stand firm and profess our beliefs and deny to follow up such unrighteousness?

Brothers and sisters in Christ, Christ is the only way to our success, his word is the only shield to prevent us from falling into temptations due to the things happening around us. Let us then wear the whole Armor of God:

Ephesians 6:10-18

New International Version (NIV)

The Armor of God

10 Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power.11 Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes. 12 For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. 13 Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand. 14 Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, 15 and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace. 16 In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. 17 Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.
18 And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the Lord’s people.

GIVE YOUR HEALTH PRIORITY
